SYNOPSIS
Eps.1
Jin Bo-ra is a senior in high school. Yeon Ha-neul is her college student boyfriend. Her day begins with a phone message from him. Her mother Kim Ok-soon is a cartoonist. She’s more like a friend than a mother to Bo-ra. Ha-neul’s father, Yeon Seong-hoon, works for a cosmetic company. One day, Ha-neul goes to the airport to pick him up. His father is returning from a business trip. He’s embarrassed to see his father’s colored hair and polished nails. Seong-hoon’s mother-in-law Mrs. Lee wants her son-in-law to get remarried. She feels sorry for Seong-hoon who has lived as a widower for the last 10 years since her daughter died. Ok-soon’s ex-husband Jin Young-hwan comes to her and asks for money to start a business. She’s furious, but she tries to keep cool for the sake of her two daughters Bo-ra and Pa-rang. Bo-ra feels sorry for her mother who still can’t be free from her abusive ex-husband even through she is divorced. After telling her mother that she won’t go to college, Bo-ra heads to the beach and enjoys taking photographs. Ha-neul tells Bo-ra that everything will be all right once her mother gets remarried. Bo-ra comes home and finds a bruise on her mother’s face. She gets furious and confronts her father.

Ok-soon and Seong-hoon meet for the first time as a cartoonist and a fan. They seem to have a lot in common. Seong-hoon gives her a makeup case with her name inscribed on it. Ok-soon is stressed from having to meet a deadline so Bo-ra takes her to the amusement park. Ok-soon’s assistants Jae-min and Seon-kyeong are speechless when they find out that Ok-soon took off before the deadline. Ok-soon feels a lot better after having a good time in the park. Ok-soon realizes that Bo-ra keeps receiving phone messages from her boyfriend. She advises her not to break up with her boyfriend. Jae-min happens to see Se-mi at the department store and falls for her. Ha-neul tells his father that he’s planning to get married within 5 years. He also tells him that he wants him to get remarried as soon as possible. He introduces Se-mi to Seong-hoon. Se-mi flirts with Seong-hoon, but he doesn’t seem interested.

However, misunderstanding that Young-hwan sent the chocolate, Ok-soon smashes it with her foot. Seong-hoon is afraid to get close to her. Bo-ra and Ok-soon have an argument about Bo-ra’s decision to not go to college. Ok-soon gets angry and ends up slapping Bo-ra in the face. Upset about what happened, Ok-soon goes on a trip by herself. Ha-neul has ice cream delivered to Bo-ra at school, but she’s too concerned about her mother to be happy about his gift. Ha-neul gets depressed. Bo-ra goes to Gangwondo to look for her mother. Ha-neul follows her. He asks his father to come with him so they can enjoy some days off at the beach. There is a school festival at Bo-ra’s school. Ha-neul comes to the festival since he graduated from Bo-ra’s high school. However, he brings Ok Gu-seul with him. Ok Gu-seul is a popular entertainer. She publicly talks about her feelings about Ha-neul on stage, which makes headlines in entertainment news. Bo-ra gets furious and tells Ha-neul that she wants to break up with him.

Seong-hoon makes fun of Ha-neul saying that he was dumped because he was two-timing. Bo-ra receives Ha-neul letter’s confessing his love for her. Bo-ra’s friend Yoon-young finds out that Bo-ra’s boyfriend is Ha-neul. Bo-ra asks her to keep it to herself. Jae-min gives Se-mi some home grown vegetables.. However, Se-mi makes vegetable juice with them and gives it to Seong-hoon. Ha-neul starts getting worried because Bo-ra is still angry at him even after receiving his love letter. He tells her that he’ll do anything she wants him to do. Finally, Bo-ra and Ha-neul make up. In front of their friends, they exchange rings and promise to be with each other forever.

Ok-soon runs to the concert hall where she’s meeting Seong-hoon. She trips and almost falls, but Seong-hoon grabs her hand. A photographer takes a picture of them and Seong-hoon acts as if his chivalry is to be expected. However, it reminds Ok-soon of her ex-husband and she feels offended. Seong-hoon asks why she’s so afraid of falling in love again. Ok-soon feels very uncomfortable. While watching Bo-ra and Ha-neul together, Soo-young remembers the first time he met Bo-ra. Se-mi hears from Soo-young about Bo-ra and Ha-neul’s romance and gets jealous. Bo-ra and Ha-neul don’t want to stay away from each other. Having no idea about their parents’ struggle, the young lovers have a great time. Bo-ra prays that she can live happily ever after with Ha-neul. Pa-rang buys her mother a ring with the money she made working part-time. She tells Ok-soon not to get remarried, which breaks Ok-soon’s heart.

Ha-neul disguises himself as a delivery man and delivers a coffee cup and flowers to Ok-soon. However, Seong-hoon finds out and tells him to stay out of his personal life. Ok-soon is surprised that Seong-hoon thought of the same gift as she did. On her way home from school, Bo-ra is happy to see Seong-hoon taking Ok-soon home. However, Young-hwan suddenly appears and attacks him. Bo-ra throws herself between them.

When she hears that Seong-hoon has a son, she thinks it’ll be great to have a step-brother. Bo-ra tells Ok-soon that she’ll leave the house if Ok-soon (marries?) Seong-hoon. Seong-hoon and Ok-soon are happy to have Bo-ra’s support. However, Ok-soon is still hesitant to get remarried. Jae-min goes to the movies with Se-mi with Seon-kyeong’s help. However, he feels depressed when she says that the actor Brad Pitt is attractive. Se-mi goes to Seong-hoon’s house and speaks ill of Ok-soon to Seong-hoon’s mother-in-law. Mrs. Lee advises Seong-hoon to think again about marrying Ok-soon, saying that she’s not a good match for him. Seong-hoon gets upset and drives to Ok-soon’s house.

Bo-ra is happy for her mother, but on the other hand, she feels sad. Bo-ra and Ha-neul miss each other, but they choose not to call each other. Bo-ra’s teacher scolds her because of her falling grades. With her pride hurt, Bo-ra decides to focus on studying and ignores Ha-neul’s phone messages. Soo-young gives Bo-ra a hairpin to make her feel better. However, Ha-neul happens to see them together. Ha-neul gets so upset that he falls ill. Bo-ra feels bad for Ha-neul. Bo-ra goes to Ha-neul’s school to meet him. They clear the misunderstandings and get back to normal. Bo-ra tells her teacher that she’ll receive corporal punishment if her grades don’t improve. Seong-hoon and Ok-soon are very confused by their reaction. But they start making wedding plans anyway. Bo-ra is so upset that she stops studying. Ha-neul and Bo-ra decide not try to stop their parents marriage. Since so many things are going on her mind, Bo-ra completely fails her test at school.

Mrs. Yoon can’t decide which side she should be on between her daughter and granddaughter. Mrs. Lee just gets angry at her son-in-law and grandson. Seong-hoon witnesses Young-hwan bothering Ok-soon again and punches him. He gives Ok-soon the ring that he couldn’t give her when he proposed to her. Ha-neul tells his friend Soo-young that he wishes that Ok-soon’s husband would win her over again. After Ok-soon leaves for a cartoonists’ meeting, Seong-hoon hears on the news that there’s a big accident on the route she is traveling.

Feeling sorry for her sister and Ha-neul, Pa-rang asks Seong-hoon to break up with her mother. Both families meet and celebrate Ok-soon’s birthday together. Young-hwan shows up uninvited and makes a sarcastic remark about Bo-ra and her boyfriend. Ok-soon and Seong-hoon don’t understand what he’s talking about.

Young-hwan thinks that this is a good opportunity to win Ok-soon’s back. Even Ok-soon’s mother starts thinking that Ok-soon will be better off with Young-hwan. Seong-hoon decides to marry Ok-soon despite his son’s relationship. However, Ok-soon can’t make up her mind because she knows that Bo-ra is having a hard time. Ha-neul and Bo-ra encourage each other not to give up the hope. Ok-soon realizes that Bo-ra and Ha-neul have vanished and gets mad at Seong-hoon. Seong-hoon is disappointed with his son’s reckless behavior. Mrs. Yoon and Mrs. Lee argue about their grandchildren. Bo-ra calls her grandmother and tells her that she’ll come back home soon. Seong-hoon decides to give up Ok-soon and volunteers for a job abroad. Soo-young realizes that he’s in love with Bo-ra and tries to break up with Seon-kyeong. However, Seon-kyeong doesn’t want to accept it. Bo-ra and Ha-neul come home. Ok-soon is furious and slaps Ha-neul in the face. Ha-neul doesn’t say a word.
Ha-neul and Bo-ra encourage each other not to give up the hope. Ok-soon realizes that Bo-ra and Ha-neul have vanished and gets mad at Seong-hoon. Seong-hoon is disappointed with his son’s reckless behavior. Mrs. Yoon and Mrs. Lee argue about their grandchildren. Bo-ra calls her grandmother and tells her that she’ll come back home soon. Seong-hoon decides to give up Ok-soon and volunteers for a job abroad. Soo-young realizes that he’s in love with Bo-ra and tries to break up with Seon-kyeong. However, Seon-kyeong doesn’t want to accept it. Bo-ra and Ha-neul come home. Ok-soon is furious and slaps Ha-neul in the face. Ha-neul doesn’t say a word.

Bo-ra gives Seong-hoon two movie tickets and tells him to take Ok-soon to the movies. Meanwhile, Ok-soon calls Ha-neul and tells him to go the movie theater to see Bo-ra.
